The Gift of Prudence
I, wisdom live with prudence, and I attain knowledge and discretion, The fear of the lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate. I have good advice and sound wisdom; I have insight, I have strength. By me kings reign, and rulers decree what is just; by me rulers rule, and nobles, all who govern rightly.
Proverbs 8:12-16Prayer God of wisdom and love, help me to see that I am your beloved, that your truth is my light in this dark world, and that your steady hand is my joy and my safety net. Grant me the prudence and perception to recognize those deceptive lures that obstruct and pervert my attention and sidetrack my path to you. Help me to learn to count on your infinite skill to guide me clearly in a hostile world. Amen.
